Topsun cards were actually printed in 1997 since Pokémon didn’t exist until 1996. 1995 is related to the Nintendo trademark and not the production of the card. The cracked ice pattern background is unique to this particular set, making this card shine. Only for the die-hard Charizard collectors is the 1995 Japanese Topsun Holofoil. Staff cards were given to a small number of distributors that held 2019 Team Up prerelease events. I would expect the prices to increase as the popularity of this early Charizard Pokémon card continues to grow. With only 45 found in gem mint 10 conditions, it’s safe to say they are relatively rare in such conditions. Population Reportsġ75 of the Carddass Charizards have made their way into PSA for grading. Pocket Monsters text is prominently displayed on the bottom in a purple reflective foil finish, which compliments the orange prismatic background. The front of these prisms screams for attention with the highly reflective prism pattern in the background.

The first Carddass card was released in 1988 and was based on the Saint Seiya anime series. But, as the popularity of Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh grew, they eventually made the cards playable in a game. Initially, Bandai created vending machines to distribute cards as collectibles. Similarly, Yu-Gi-Oh and Dragon Ball Z cards were available in Carddass vending machines. Here’s a truly unique Charizard Pokémon card distributed throughout Japan in vending machines.
